Picked Up - 8. FC-AFC WOOD RIVER'S MR BIG, "George" LM, Bill Fruehling

"George" and Bill came to the line at 7:30 am

Right Flyer - Quick work of this bird.

Short Retired - Out past the guns and into the cover. George missed the bird and worked his way back to get the short retired.

Middle Retired - He went wide right into the heavy cover. He got very wide right then came back across and hunted the area hard left of the guns. He worked it out and got his bird.

Left Flyer - His initial hunt was between the gunners and the trees. He worked across the timber to the short retired. George had to be handled to the bird and then picked up.

"George" and Bill came to the line at 11:07 am

Blind – Through the hay bales and a quick whistle to adjust, 3 to the water, 3 more whistles casting the dog left away from the shore in the first pool. A quick skim of the point, a couple whistles to adjust to the end of the watery retrieve of his duck.

Blind -2:37 pm - George's initial line brought him left the brush. He got his first whistle from owner handler Bill Fruehling at the brush and another to get him on the hill. The third whistle was on the flat of the hill that carried him through the slot and final whistle was at his bird.

"George" and Bill came to the line at 10:06 am

Flyer – Good job!

Middle Retired – A loop to reference the gunners then over to his bird.

Left Retired – Nice Mark!

Right Retired – Made a zig zag but corrected his line and was on the bird.

George and Bill came to the line at 8:33 am.

Flyer - Had another no bird on the thrown bird, he came straight back to the line for the rerun.

Left - He went out through the bales and into the pond, exiting and continuing into the front edge of the trees, he went down then out to his bird.

The flyer ran, so George will go back 12 dogs for a rerun.

Came to the line at 9:53 am.

Water - Initial line was short, three whistles to cross the road. One to get in the pond and three or four more to adjust the line. Two whistles to get George to move left of the bird and one at the end.

Land - He carried initial line to the bird! Quick check down at the end.

"George" with handler Bill Fruehling came to the line to run their first test of the 2018 National Retriever Club Championship at 10:45 am.

Flyer - He went out across the cut corn to the fall area and quickly got his bird.

Long - He went down the hill through the cover and into the puddle. He headed right to the end of the field in the corn, but came back through the trees and out deep left of the bird. He worked his way to retrieve his bird.
