Came to the line at 4:36 pm.

Flyer - Extensive hunt before finding his bird.

Middle Retired - Came in left of the blind then worked his way to the cover but missed the bird. Quickly came back in and got it.

Left Retired - Out to the bale by the cover and a quick left and Gus got his bird.

Right Retired - One turn just short of the bird then he was on it.

"Gus" and Dave came to the line at 3:00 pm.

Flyer - Gus makes quick work of the flyer. The conditions have deteriorated, but Gus seems unaffected.

Middle - Out and back along the dam to quickly return with his bird.

Left - Through the pond and up the hill, Gus has his bird.

2nd & 3rd Series - Water / Land Blind

Water - Four whistles to get into the water. Digging through the lunging water he gets to the far shore with three more whistles for his bird.

Land - One whistle by the first bale. Another just before the last bale sets Gus on the right path to his bird.

"Gus" with handler Dave Smith came to the line to run their first test of the 2018 National Retriever Club Championship at 8:27 am.

Flyer - Gus went out and straight to his bird.

Long - Going out wide right and along the edge of the corn field, Gus made a loop into the corn field. He came back to the edge then a made a pass along the far end of the field coming out from the trees. He made another pass and to his bird.
