Handle - 98. FC-AFC KNOCKOUT PUNCH II, "Joe" LM, Jim Cope

Joe and Jim came to the line at 7:34 am.

Flyer - Straight to the area then to the bird.

Left - Joe took the line right of the bales and got far right of the blind. He got deep into cover and went back and forth and wide right. He moved left to the field with a left bird and got it.

Middle - He went through the bales into the pond. Joe had to be handled to keep to the right side. Had to work on the right, got into the trees and out of sight but came out in the correct field and got his bird.

Came to the line at 8:29 am.

Water - Four whistles to get the angle to cross the road and into the pond. Four more to adjust entry area at the water. Two whistles to get past the point and to the bird.

Land - First whistle came by the first hay bale. Another whistle to guide him to the slot after the second bale and one last one to the end.

"Joe" with handler Jim Cope came to the line to run their first test of the 2018 National Retriever Club Championship at 9:38 am.

Flyer - Joe went through the cut corn & stubble directly to his mark.

Long - Catching a piece of the cover that turned him right into the corn field. Coming out tight to the bale at the end of the field, Joe cut through the trees to the left and hunted deep but made his way back to his bird.
